The And The Denial Of Conspiracy - 2175 Words
4 April 2015 9/11 and the Denial of Conspiracy Often people take things at face value without any interest in critically analyzing the authenticity of what he or she hears. 9/11 has been remembered as a day of fear and pain as thousands of families suffered losing loved ones to al-Qaeda. For four years Osama Bin Laden denied responsibility for the September 11 attacks of 2001 which mark the deadliest day on American soil in history, claiming that the current leader of the Islamic state at the time denied Osama the right to exercise the power to perform operations such as 9/11 (Avery: ââ¬Å"Loose Changeâ⬠). Though presumed the culprit, Osama denied any involvement in the incident for years before admitting in a video released by the Pentagon,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The possibility of financial gain from the event by Larry Silverstein and stock holders and the benefits of a psychological attack on the American people by the Bush Administration are what have been understood as the reasons for unrest (Avery: ââ¬Å"Lo ose Changeâ⬠). Though shocking evidence and explanation has been presented the majority of the American public refuses to believe in the 9/11 conspiracy or even consider it. Whether it be because of lack of interest or because of the inability to find logic in believing 9/11 was an inside job, more attention needs to be put forth at the possibility of conspiracy. By analyzing the psychological studies of commenters on 9/11 conspiracy videos, shocking results can be found that can explain why there isnââ¬â¢t enough interest in conspiracies. Whether it be a lack of interest due to its minimal effect on oneââ¬â¢s personal life or a wish to avoid government attention due to a fear of getting involved in something he or she shouldnââ¬â¢t, there is a need to put more attention forth toward the conspiracy theory that is in plain view and easily accessible for research. The most controversial flight in the 9/11 conspiracy, rivaled only by the disappearance of Flight 77, is the damage done to the pentagon. The first mystery surrounding this event was the impossibility of a Boeing

The Romantic period was primarily an intellectual movement filled with and moved by art, and literature. The era is seen by many as an outbreak or revolt against the ââ¬Å"norms,â⬠not only that but many see the movement as one of the main reactions to the rationalization of both science and nature as well, the era that some would refer to as the Enlightenment. When thought of or talked about today Romanticism is more commonly associated with liberalism and radicalism. The movement was based on the idea that intense emotion could actually be used as an actual and valid source, it also confronted the sublimity of nature and many, if not all, of its picturesque qualities. This period was home to many great writers, writers such as Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Mary Shelley. One can imagine that among the many topics that preoccupied the many different works and ideas of these Romantic poets and writers was the Romantic conception of sublim e, or idea of being able to connect to oneââ¬â¢s own experiences of awe and other emotions like those of terror or even danger. The writers and poets of the Romantic era would no doubt have been familiar with this concept. Satire and Stereotyping in the Birth of a Nation and...
Spike Lees film Bamboozled (2000), cinematically stages American mass entertainments history of discrimination with humiliating minstrel stereotypes which was first brought to film in 1915 by D.W. Griffiths The Birth of a Nation. ÃâBlackface minstrelsy is a disturbing legacy that began as a tradition in the early 1800s on stage, with white actors using burnt corks to darken their skin and allowing them to portray African-American slaves, usually as lazy, child-like providers of comic relief (4). This eventually evolved into Vaudeville-style parody shows consisting of songs, dances and comic skits. This tradition represented an accepted way of looking at African-Americans and was the first form of American mass culture that createdâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦For example the audience may believe that the masked Ku Klux Klan riders were white behind their masks and have in reality may have tried to forget that many of the fleeing African Americans were actually white actors. American whiteness as articulated by Birth of a Nation is built on stereotypes, and this is precisely why minstrelsy might have the power to resist racism. Minstrel performances relied on stereotypes to evoke their opposites. It is possible to assume that the discourse of mass entertainment from its minstrel days to current film and possibly beyond, recognizing and accepting blackface conventions and stereotypes were key, almost necessary conditions of American whiteness. Minstrelsy took the productive ambivalence inherent to the stereotype and magnified it to increase the stereotypes inevitable undoing of itself (4). But in Birth of a Nation, the determining concept of the stereotype that makes sense is disrupted by the inevitable context provided by narrative: in the films narrative, African-Americans are seen gently working and playing for their masters benefit prior to the Civil War. This stereotypical representation draws on myths that blackface minstrelsy seemed to ally to the politics of white supremacy; it worked to promote propaganda. Prior to the Civil War, the film explains African-Americans were docile and happy on the plantation because of slave laws imposed by

In this context, Bodie, Kane and Marcus (2014) stated that investors with the help of inventory valuation can be identify whether demand for the stocks are adequately supported by customer. On the other hand, Chouhan, Soral and Chandra (2017) argued that increment in inventory value directly indicates no sales conducted by the organization during the fiscal year. This could eventually mean that the continuous purchase of inventories is blocking companys cash reserves. Determining the accounting policies used by JB Hi-Fi Limited for the valuation of inventories: The company adequately utilizes AASB accounting policy for identifying the relevant valuation of inventories. Inventory are mainly stated at lower of cost and realizable value, which could directly affect the actual valuation of the inventory recorded in annual report. In addition, the overall cost is mainly assigned with the help of weighted average cost (Jbhifi.com.au 2018). This relevant valuation mainly allows the organization to detect the actual value of the inventory after deducting all the relevant cost incurred and its operations. this valuation and recognition method directly have sent affecting the actual value of the inventory maintained by JB Hi-Fi Limited. Haribhai-Pitamber and Dhurup (2014) mentioned that with the help of inventory valuation organizations can produce actual face value of their inventory to the investor, which could depict their actual financial position. This relevant detection of inventory mainly allowed JB Hi-Fi Limited depict their actual inventory level in the annual report. On the contrary, SHI et al. (2015) argued that companies using different inventory valuation method can put adequate valuation of their inventory in the annual report, which directly inflates the financial position. GutierrezS Analysis Of Book Of Job Essay Example For Students
GutierrezS Analysis Of Book Of Job Essay GutierrezS Analysis Of Book Of JobFrank BottinoReaction PaperOn Job: God-Talk and the Suffering of the Innocent(Synopsis)In Gutierrezââ¬â¢s analysis on the book of Job, the justice of God seems to be the primary issue of his argument. Throughout his argument he justifies that Godââ¬â¢s way of doing things is outside the comprehension of the human mind. He states that, ââ¬Å"God indeed has a plan, but it is not one that the human mind can grasp so as to make calculations based on it and foresee the divine action (73).â⬠In the book of Job, God tests Jobââ¬â¢s faith by putting him through a series of trials and tribulations. Job initially doesnââ¬â¢t understand why God does this because he has always been righteous in the sight of the Lord. His friends believe his suffering is a direct result from the sin in Jobââ¬â¢s life but as the text explains, they are clearly ignorant. Job questions God directly, however God challenges him to explain how the universe was crea ted and how it is ordered. Jobââ¬â¢s error is his presumption that Godââ¬â¢s ways and his omnipotence are humanly comprehensible. God both rebukes Job and makes his most direct reply to Jobââ¬â¢s earlier question: ââ¬Å"What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit do we get if we pray to him? (21:15)â⬠Gutierrez states that here Job realizes he has spoken out of ignorance and that he may come no closer to God than his vision of him, therefore Job repents. In conclusion, Gutierrez main point is clearly that in order to understand God and his divine plan, one must avoid ââ¬Å"â⬠¦the temptation of imprisoning God in a narrow conception of justice (91).â⬠The book of Job reminds us that God is outside time and space and that He does whatever He wants despite what we as humans think is just. Personal ReflectionI feel that Gutierrezââ¬â¢s argument is right on target. As we have studied in previous chapters of the Old Testament, Godââ¬â¢s way of doing things is not what we as humans would expect to be logical. For example, in Exodus we see that God chooses Moses to be the deliverer of the Israelites despite the fact that he is the second son, a murderer, and ââ¬Å"slow of speech and slow of tongueâ⬠(4:10). This is strange because one would expect God to appoint someone of ââ¬Ëhigher statureââ¬â¢ like his brother Aaron. Another example is seen in Genesis when God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. This seems illogical to us at first because it clearly goes against Godââ¬â¢s promise to Abraham. Abraham soon realizes when an angle of God stops him that it was only a test of his faithfulness to God. However, despite Gutierrezââ¬â¢s strong argument, I believe that sometimes Godââ¬â¢s ways are predictable and logical. For example, we constantly see throughout the Old Testament that whenever the Israelites break their covenant with God, we can be assured that they will be punished. This is clearly seen in the book Samuel when Saul defies God and his reign is slowly stripped away from him. On the other hand, when one obeys God, it is reasonable to conclude that they will be blesses. For example, because David followed Godââ¬â¢s instructions, he was certainly blessed. In conclusion, sometimes Godââ¬â¢s plans are logical and other times they are not. Therefore we as humans should never assume to know what God is going to do next. And no matter what God chooses to do, we should not be surprised because He certainly works in mysterious ways. .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 , .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .postImageUrl , .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 , .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:hover , .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:visited , .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:active { border:0!important; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:active , .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2 .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ud369bc44382325aa7087696329056ee2:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Links Between Crime And Punishment And A Dolls Hou EssayReligion

Syphilis In Measure For Measure Essays - Syphilis,
Syphilis In Measure For Measure Syphilis in Renaissance Europe and in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure Bibliography to venereal disease appear as early in the second scene of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. Syphilis, the primary and most horrible of venereal diseases, ran rampant in Shakespeare's time. By giving a brief history of the disease in Renaissance Europe one can gain a better understanding of the disease which will provide a greater insight into the play which would have gone unknown. This brief history will include, the severity of the disease in fifteenth and sixteenth century Europe, believed origins and symptoms of the time period, and methods of curing or combating the disease.. By reading and analyzing passages referring to syphilis in Measure for Measure it is clear that Shakespeare himself believed in most of the truths established by the poet and physician Fracastor. Fracastor was the primary source and influence regarding studies of syphilis in Renaissance Europe. The disease we now commonly identify as syphilis is believed to have arrived in Europe for the first time in the late fifteenth century. Though there are few statistics from that period available to prove such an argument, there is plenty of evidence that supports that the disease suddenly emerged in great abundance during this time period. It is also believed that syphilis was much more severe then, than it has ever been since. Zinsser writes in his book, Rats, Lice, and History that: ?There is little doubt that when syphilis first appeared in epidemic form, at the beginning of the sixteenth century, it was a far more virulent, acute, and factual condition than it is now (Rosebury 23).? The first time syphilis, called evil pocks at the time, was mentioned in print occurred on August 7, 1495 in the Edict of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian. In this document syphilis was believed to be a punishment sent from God for blasphemy and was described as something ?which had never occurred before nor been heard of within the memory of man (Rosebury 24).? Between the years 1495 and 1498 there were a total of nine similar documents that emerged through out Western Europe. In 1530 Fracastor, a poet and physician, published the poem, Syphilis sive Morbus Gallicus, translated ?Syphilis or the French Disease.? The main character was a shepherd in Hispaniola named Syphilis. Syphilis caught the disease for disrespecting the Gods. At the time Fracastor believed in the previous documents, but would provide his own original ideas concerning how the disease reached Europe. He also alluded to possible treatments, that Shakespeare will later use in his plays. Fracastor used the name ?syphilis? for both the main character and the disease he contracted. However, the name of the disease continued to be known as ?the French disease.? It was not until the 1850's, more than three centuries after Fracastor's poem, that the disease was called ?syphilis.? Fracastor's poem grew widely popular in Western Europe, and was believed to be mostly factual at the time. It might seem odd that a fictional poem with fictional characters would be widely regarded as truth, but under the extreme circumstances of the sixteenth century syphilis epidemic it makes perfect sense. Syphilis had caused terror in the hearts of the people in the sixteenth century due to its rapid spread. Physicians seemed helpless to cure it. No one could do anything, but believe in what Fracastor wrote. In the poem Fracastor had answers concerning its origin, symptoms, and cure for this new disease. He went along with the common belief that it appeared in the French army before Naples around the year 1495. ?From France, and justly took from France his name, (Rosebury 31).? This quote provides the evidence concerning syphilis' former name, ?The French Disease.? He also discussed how he believed that it originated in America, and was brought back with Columbus and his men. This was the popular view of the day, and many researchers still find truth in it. What Fracastor truly believed, at the time, was that the positions of the planets influenced the outbreak of the disease. He believed that they lined up in such a way that provided great conditions for the emergence of the disease. In the poem Fracastor also
